Poppy Run

Vancouver, October 17, 2013

This year's Remembrance Day will leave special memories with Poppy Run in Vancouver. The public running/walking/music performance event will take place on Remembrance Sunday, November 10, at 8 AM at Lumberman's Arch in Stanley Park.

Run/walk to give for those who gave, for today's peace and freedom, for a better tomorrow.

Participants can register online at PoppyRun.com for an 8K forest hill race, 4K walk or music performances. Both run and walk lead you into the deep forest in Stanley Park. Set among the scenic lakes, forest, bridges and woodlands, the course is designed to engage a runner's desire for challenge, while providing a picturesque racing experience. Racers and walkers will have the chance to lose themselves in the pure and utter beauty of the Stanley Park trials less travelled, and immerse themselves in the scenery often overlooked. Throughout the course, runners and walkers will find well-stocked aid stations at regular intervals and clear course markings.

The race will be a family friendly event, with plenty of activities throughout the morning of the race for race spectators, families and children to enjoy. Beverages and snacks will be served, and unique fitness workshops will be on site at the entertainment area.

Poppy Run partner with four local charities, iWeFoundation, Dreams Take Flight, Ecotrust Canada and L'Arche to build a better community. This event will be managed by International Health Council and Running Room.
