Antithyroid Drugs Have Side Effects

Radioactive Iodine-131 Leads to Hypothyroidism

Over 95% of patients suffer hypothyroidism after iodine-131 treatment and have to take thyroid extract medication for the rest of their lives. If you have to live with medication for the rest of your life, then it's not a cure.

Some common symptoms of hypothyroidism include:

  • Slow speech and a hoarse, breaking voice
  • Dry puffy skin, especially on the facee
  • Thinning of the outer third of the eyebrows

  • Impaired memory
  • Hair loss

Often patients are told they will have to take thyroid extracts after iodine-131 treatment, but are not well informed about the impact of hypothyroidism. Stop using one disease to replace another disease. Stop using iodine-131.

There is a Cure for Hyperthyroidism

Methimazole is an antithyroid drug. However, instead of being taken as a medicine, it's applied as cream on the skin. The cream is applied directly on the thyroid area on the neck to avoid going through digestion system. The cream penetrates the skin, attacks thyroid directly and avoids affecting the other organs.
